Travel in style...

I have been planning a small trip over Europe for past few weeks. It going to be by end of October- autumn/ winter transition time and involves 5-6 different areas, budget travelling and exciting stuffs ( more details later). Needless to say , me being me, thinking about the appropriate clothing style  for my trip also comes under  trip-planning !
As this trip will mean multiple stops, limited luggage ( seriously...this should be meant for male travellers only!!), plane and train travelling, shopping,... i need outfits and shoes which cover the following points:
1. comfortable( for the long travel hours and walking)
2.stylish!!!! ( for walking the streets of beautiful Paris...)
3.versatile ( need to be able to mix match stuff cause i cant possibly carry 20 different outfits cause the trip will last 3weeks)
4. lightweight
5. warm
6. suit my budget ( ha! travelling is exciting but need to think about the bank account also...)

i have been browsing the net for some inspiration ( Deepika padukone is so effortlessly chic..) and this is what i came up with...

Crisp white shirt, brown leather belt, blue jeans- versatile and a look that never disappoints- can be spiced up with some gold tone jewelry

I think a trip is a good time to invest in some wardrobe staple: good pair of long lasting blue jeans, comfy shoes, spacious bag

comfortable sweater, nice pair of stylish Aviator sunglasses( invest in a good pair to protect your eyes), walking sneakers- all pair with your staple blue jeans/ a white one if i got some packing space

some pinkies  for when i feel like being girlie!!  lightweight stuff, easily paired with blue jeans and browns shoes and accessories

For a glam night out( thinking about my dinner out in Paris, clubbing and catching up with friends and relatives in London and Belfast)

On the Sand Dunes...

We used this last weekend we have together (my friends and i) to visit one of the attractions of the Gironde- the Dunes de Pilat and the Bassin d'Arcachon. This weekend was also a break from the stressful time we all are going through right now in preparing our "Soutenance de Memoire" which is due in 2-3 weeks.

The Dunes de Pilat is the tallest sand dune of Europe and is found in the community of La Teste de Buch. The dune has a volume of about 60,000,000 m³, measuring around 500 m wide from east to west and 2.7 km in length from north to south. Its height is 108 metres above sea level.
The dune is considered a foredune, meaning a dune that runs parallel to a shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean, behind the high tide line of a beach. The dune has been observed to move landward, slowly pushing the forest back to cover houses, roads and even portions of the atlantic wall. This great wall of sand has been formed by the powerful Atlantic ocean winds.

What was in the mail the past week...

Bought some stuffs online and received the packages last week...

1. My new Scholl slippers... those are supposed to have soles that reduce impacts on your knees and hip. They are very soft and comfy- not really true to size, they are more on the smaller side. I got these for 28 Euros which i believe is a quite a deal for a orthopedic shoes... what do you think?

2. My DP dress... my fav buy for August... a little black dress... very elegant and chic which i am waiting to wear for my birthday dinner coming up very soon. Paired up with gold-bronze jewelry and black suede pump...red lipstick...this will look amazing. Bargain price of  30 Euros
Ain't this gorgeous??

Plans for a lazy Sunday...

Sundays are days to lay back and relax ... After whole week of toiling at work and listening and trying to relieve the pain of others... on this day, i just feel the need of having some time to myself  for some pampering...lazying...to get ready for the week ahead...
My plans for today..

1. Curl up on the couch and watch a good movie...while feasting on the delicious grapes ( yes people its " vendange" time in Bordeaux and you get the sweetest and best grapes! this time comes only once a year...)

Joys of travelling by french bus...

Awww.... Despite my Hussain Bolt sprint... I missed the 08:44 bus by 1.75 seconds!!! I will be late for today... Yeah...french buses are known to stick to their schedule and also for not stopping anywhere else than on the bus stop... Their punctuality is definitely due to that terrific bus lane which helps in gaining time in heavy traffic hours ...Which brings me to think that this is so unlike in Mauritius( you Mauritians out there definitely know what i am talking about dont you??!!) Mauritian buses on the exact contrary are known to ... Never be on time, more exactly always late.... Stopping 10mts before or after the actual bus stop, on the round about,....bref anywhere! Imagine the fun when you are stuck driving behind one...
Ah my french bus has arrived... In time...As expected. Goodbye for now

Sun-Day...

It has been a beautiful sunny end of summer sunday in Bordeaux today... yes indeed we are approaching autumn days and sunny warm days are becoming quite ...rare... But the true Mauritian that i am, didnt value this wonderful weather for a dime- common people! we have bright warm summer days even in full blown winter in Mauritius...
All this to say that i didnt go out, spent the day working on my thesis, cleaning, laundry ( inconveniences of living on your own!!!) and above all shopping online( my fav stuff to do these days- you get to stay in pajamas, sip your coffee and pick and choose!!!...and of course you never really SEE the money going!!)

Some of my buys...
1. Tend skin solution

This thing is just amazing! if you have painful ingrown hair you  need to know about this product- soothes even the most inflammed bump anywhere on the body...even on guys! in fact i bought for the first for my BF who had ingrown hair on his face after shaving...then i once used it on my leg- now i am addicted... with coming cold winter days...constant wear of pants and jeans...ingrown hair are bound to show up.... so i am stocking on that !
More so...this stuff is not available in Mauritius... and shipping cost a fortune if you need one

2. Black Beret
these are so versatile and staple item in a girl's wardrobe for winter. They can be worn for casual looks as well as for a chic elegant finish to party wear- guess mine will be of use in Mauritius too cause we are having quite cold winters over there lately.

I got the black one to match my black boot...these are going to be wonderful for my coming up Paris trip... the are so...FRANCAIS!!
Ebay- $4

Nice way to wear a Beret for a casual look

So elegant !

3. Brown leather shoes at only 14 Euros!

I believe those would be perfect for work with pencil skirt or classic flare trousers. Also wedges are so comfy when you got long hours standing!

WANTED!

wish i could find a replica of that dress... sigh**

Afternoon Jog...

Absolute must to stay healthy and keep pace with the demanding life of a doctor... an afternoon jog! Not only does my afternoon jog give me time to reflect over my day at work but also to enjoy the magnificent scenery and climate in the kingdom of viticulture and viniculture- Bordeaux- the place i am currently living in.

All those planning to visit Bordeaux ... dont forget to pack your running/walking( if  you are less of a jogging person!)  shoes and pair of sweat pants to enjoy a nice stroll /jog...you wont be disappointed!

How it all started...

In my 18 square meters room, in France, miles away from my home country Mauritius...and even more miles away from what i am currently SUPPOSED to be doing ( typing my thesis)...came the inspiration for a blog...
My blog will be ...
A blog about life- Life on my side of the world- wherever i will be!!
A blog to inspire ....and for inspiration
A blog about fashion and make-up (why does no-one talk about how doctors should dress up?!!), Travel (i looooove travelling and i have been able to realise this dream of mine only until very recently when i have started earning a bit...), good plans and partying ( doctors need to let off the steam on and off too...),shoppingfood , women stuff ( a girl's got to do what she's got to do...) my profession...
A blog which keeps tract of the different milestones of life...( i have recently crossed quite a few...and some others are nearing ...)

Most people think that doctors don't have a life of their own apart from their job...it's not true... ok half true...At least I try to get most of out of it...if you follow me you will get the proof...Promises to be quite a ride!
